Hi ,

We are happy to announce that our Fort Mac Strong 2016 patch is available. We're very proud of the quick and selfless response of so many Albertans and first responders. We here at E-Patches and Crests want to do our part too by offering this crest for sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to help aid the residents of Fort McMurray.

Recently we received a message from Julie Fox, the Girl Guide District Commissioner of Northern Lights and we wanted to share it with you.

''Hi Lori,
Many of our girls and Guiders are returning home to Fort McMurray over the next few weeks. Elizabeth Hamlyn showed us the awesome crests you guys came up with to support the fire relief effort. We as a District, have committed to making sure each member receives one of your Fort Mac Strong crests. We also have several Guiders who have requested more to send to units they were welcomed into during the evacuation. Thanks so much.
''

We're happy to share that E-Patches & Crests is donating 325 Fort Mac Strong crests to the Fort McMurray Guiders. One report was that a previous Guiding member's camp blanket, that she had since she was a Spark, was destroyed. This crest may be the first in rebuilding her collection. We're also giving her one of our wool blankets. We know that we can never replace the memories attached to her previous blanket, but hopefully this will help in the journey of creating new ones. We're with you Fort Mac!

Nancy would like to share her story with you in hopes of bringing awareness of the devastation in Fort McMurray.

“Hi everyone. My name is Nancy King, the treasurer for the Fort McMurray Girl Guides and the lady in the red Canada shirt in the picture above. Next to me is my husband, Chris, the people in the orange shirts are from Samaritan's Purse, and my friends in the grey shirts are all part of Team Rubicon (volunteers from the United States and Canada that travel to disaster areas and unite people with their belongings). You can also see the pile of ash in the background, which is all that's left of my home.
I would really like to say a big 'thank you' to Team Rubicon. Last week they helped me sift through the remains of my home and guess what they found? Out of all the amazing finds, they managed to recover a few of my patches! I don't know how, but they managed to survive. Take a look at them below.”
